MORNINGS You want them to hurry and get out the door on time. Part of the problem is that once in the bathroom, no one ever knows the time. Add an easy to read clock in the bathroom. Enhance it by adding a small red dot or arrow for the time that they need to be walking out the door. LAUNDRY If you are wondering when your child can begin to do laundry, the answer is when they are a toddler. After each bath, take them to the hamper with you and praise and clap as they drop each item in the hamper. Make it a game to empty the laundry basket by having them help you count and put away socks and other simple items. DAILY SCHEDULES Even adults forget what time they have to be places. Keep a stack of index cards by the calendar. Make it a routine to look at the calendar WITH your child. Have them note on the card tomorrow's practice times or meetings and tuck it in their backpack. HOMEWORK Tackle weekly reading assignments by creating bookmarks with the days of the week. Divide the book with the markers. The child then reads, for example, on Monday, until they reach the Tuesday marker.
